Description

The PRSS12 (serine protease 12) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

PRSS12 is involved in neuronal plasticity, a process essential for learning and memory. Its proteolytic activity is thought to facilitate structural changes within neurons, which are necessary for these cognitive functions.

PRSS12 is also known as BSSP-3, BSSP3, MRT1.
