PRORP

Description

The PRORP (protein only RNase P catalytic subunit) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

PRORP is the catalytic subunit of mitochondrial ribonuclease P (RNase P), a complex that processes tRNA molecules by cleaving their 5' ends. It forms a complex with TRMT10C/MRPP1 and HSD17B10/MRPP2, and all three proteins are required for tRNA processing.

PRORP is also known as COXPD54, KIAA0391, MRPP3.
