PDE6G
Description
The PDE6G (phosphodiesterase 6G) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.
Retinal rod rhodopsin-sensitive cGMP 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase subunit gamma is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PDE6G gene. PDE6G has been shown to interact with Beta adrenergic receptor kinase and Src.
PDE6G participates in transmitting and amplifying visual signals. It acts as an effector molecule in G-protein-mediated phototransduction within vertebrate rod and cone cells.
PDE6G is also known as PDEG, RP57.
