PAPPA2

Description

The PAPPA2 (pappalysin 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Pappalysin-2, also known as pregnancy-associated plasma protein A2 (PAPP-A2), is a protein encoded by the PAPPA2 gene in humans.

PAPP-A2 is a metalloproteinase that specifically cleaves insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP)-5 at the '163-Ser-|-Lys-164' bond. It also exhibits limited proteolytic activity towards IGFBP-3.

PAPPA2 is also known as PAPP-A2, PAPP-E, PAPPE, PLAC3, SSDA.
