NUP88

Description

The NUP88 (nucleoporin 88) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

NUP88 is a gene that encodes a protein called nucleoporin 88. This protein is part of the nuclear pore complex, a large structure that controls the movement of molecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. NUP88 is found in a subcomplex with the oncogenic protein CAN/Nup214. It is also overexpressed in many cancers and precancerous conditions. NUP88 interacts with NUP98.

NUP88 is also known as FADS4.
