Description

NDUFS3 encodes a subunit of NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) 1, also known as mitochondrial complex I. This complex plays a critical role in cellular respiration, the process by which our cells generate energy. NDUFS3 specifically contributes to the assembly and proper functioning of complex I, ensuring the efficient transfer of electrons from NADH to ubiquinone. Mutations in NDUFS3 can disrupt this process, leading to a variety of health issues.
