NARS2

Description

The NARS2 (asparaginyl-tRNA synthetase 2, mitochondrial) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

NARS2 is a mitochondrial aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase that catalyzes the specific attachment of asparagine to its corresponding transfer RNA (tRNA), playing a crucial role in protein synthesis. This process occurs in two steps: first, asparagine is activated by ATP to form Asn-AMP, followed by its transfer to the acceptor end of tRNA(Asn).

NARS2 is also known as DFNB94, SLM5, asnRS.
