NADK2

Description

The NADK2 (NAD kinase 2, mitochondrial) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

NADK2 is a mitochondrial enzyme responsible for the phosphorylation of NAD+ to NADP+. This phosphorylation process can utilize either ATP or inorganic polyphosphate as the phosphate donor. While NADK2 also exhibits weak NADH kinase activity in vitro, this activity is significantly less pronounced compared to its NAD+ kinase activity and may not be relevant in vivo.

NADK2 is also known as C5orf33, DECRD, MNADK, NADKD1.
