MALT1

Description

The MALT1 gene encodes a protein that plays a critical role in the immune system. It acts as a scaffold protein, bringing together other proteins to form complexes involved in crucial signaling pathways, particularly those triggered by the T cell receptor (TCR). These pathways are essential for immune responses, including the activation of lymphocytes and the production of cytokines. MALT1 also plays a part in regulating inflammation and cell death. Dysregulation of MALT1 activity can lead to autoimmune disorders and certain types of cancer, highlighting its importance in maintaining immune homeostasis.
