GPR88

Description

The GPR88 (G protein-coupled receptor 88) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Probable G-protein coupled receptor 88 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GPR88 gene.

GPR88 is an orphan G protein-coupled receptor implicated in a variety of behavioral responses, including motor activities, spatial learning, and emotional processing. It may also play a role in regulating cognitive and motor function. GPR88 interacts with the heterotrimeric G protein complex of the G(i) subfamily, which includes GNAI1, GNB1, and GNG2, and acts through a G(i)-mediated pathway. GPR88 also plays a role in attenuating the cAMP response mediated by the D1 dopamine receptor (D1R) in ciliated cells. In non-ciliated cells, GPR88 is involved in inhibiting the beta-2 adrenergic receptor (B2AR) response.

GPR88 is also known as COCPMR, STRG.
