FLG2

Description

The FLG2 (filaggrin 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

FLG2 plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of the skin's outermost layer (stratum corneum). It ensures proper cell-cell adhesion within the cornified cell layers and contributes to the overall mechanical strength of the epidermis.

FLG2 is also known as IFPS, PSS6.
