DONSON

Description

The DONSON (DNA replication fork stabilization factor DONSON) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 21.

DONSON is a replisome component that safeguards the stability of the genome by safeguarding stalled or damaged replication forks. Following the induction of replication stress, DONSON is crucial for stabilizing stalled replication forks, efficiently activating the intra-S-phase and G/2M cell cycle checkpoints, and preserving genomic integrity.

DONSON is also known as B17, C21orf60, MIMIS, MISSLA.
