CR2
Description
The CR2 (complement C3d receptor 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
CR2 is a human gene that codes for a protein known as complement receptor type 2 (Cr2). It is involved in the immune system, specifically in B-cell activation and signaling. Cr2 acts as a receptor for various ligands, including complement component CD3d, HNRNPU, and IFNA1. It also interacts with Epstein-Barr virus and is involved in the regulation of IgE production.
Receptor for complement C3, for the Epstein-Barr virus on human B-cells and T-cells and for HNRNPU. Participates in B lymphocytes activation.
CR2 is also known as C3DR, CD21, CR, CVID7, SLEB9.
