CDC45

Description

The CDC45 (cell division cycle 45) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 22.

CDC45 is essential for initiating chromosomal DNA replication. It serves as a core component of the CDC45-MCM-GINS (CMG) helicase, a molecular machine responsible for unwinding template DNA during replication. The replisome, the complex responsible for DNA synthesis, assembles around this helicase.

CDC45 is also known as CDC45L, CDC45L2, MGORS7, PORC-PI-1.
