CARS2

Description

The CARS2 (cysteinyl-tRNA synthetase 2, mitochondrial) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

CARS2, also known as mitochondrial cysteine-specific aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase, is responsible for the ATP-dependent attachment of cysteine to tRNA(Cys), a crucial step in protein synthesis.

CARS2 is also known as COXPD27, cysRS.
